I found out Thursday that my kitty Pumpkin has tumors that are interrupting his kidney function. A month ago, he was diagnosed with kidney disease. Sweetie, his sister, has kidney disease also (diagnosed in July) and has been doing well with home treatment as well as acupuncture and herbs. He wasn't as bad as she was, but then he started to rapidly decline. So, after an ultrasound, we know that he has this mass tumor. It hasn't been looking good, but I am trying hard to turn things around. My other cat Sky defied the odds with an extremely fatal form of cancer two and half years ago without even using conventional treatment. You'd never guess today that she had oral squamous cell carcinoma....I am hoping that Pumpkin can defy the odds too. Up until a month ago, most people found it difficult to believe that he's almost 17 years old....I need to stay positive, but I can't help but feel sad.
